Automatic Transfer Switch is a transfer switch which automatically transfers load to the available back-up source in case of primary supply failure. It generally consists of a Source Transfer Controller which constantly monitors the incoming power sources and whenever any abnormality is observed, it gives command to transfer switch to switch over to back-up source.
