Overview

A break control switch is known as a Trip-Neutral-Close switch or TNC switch. It is a three-position rotary control switch used primarily for the remote operation of circuit breakers. It provides manual control over the tripping and closing functions of a breaker by energizing the respective coils.


When the switch is in close position it puts the circuit breaker in on position by energizing the closing coil and when switch is in trip position it will trip the circuit breaker by energizing the trip coil in circuit breaker these switch available with three mechanism:


  1. Spring return: Spring return from neutral position from both sides
  2. Lost motion (LMD): Memory feature of previous operation
  3. Sequence locking: Permits only one close operation (sequential lock)
